Wrinkle Serves as Presidential Intern
Nancy Wrinkle, associate professor, mathematics, is the NEIU Presidential Intern for the 2009-10 academic year.
Wrinkle is a newly tenured associate professor in the department of mathematics, where she has demonstrated a superb record of leadership in projects aimed at increasing student success. Wrinkle serves as co-principal investigator on the prestigious National Science Foundation STEM grant recently awarded to NEIU and is an executive board member of NEIU's new Student Center for Science Engagement. She also has been instrumental in developing and obtaining funding for the Peer-Led Team Leaders program in the mathematics department. Additionally, Wrinkle maintains a strong research agenda and has an impressive record of service across the University.
Wrinkle will spend the next year as the intern with the title "Special Assistant to the President." In addition to participating in the daily aspects of the president's schedule, assisting in the spring legislative session, and working on initiatives out of the president's office, she also will spend a significant amount of time with each of the vice presidents learning their respective areas.
