NEIU students Jose Fulgencio, Jazmin Morales and Lisbeth Ruiz were pictured in the December 4 issue of Hoy. The photograph included students who received the Illinois Latino Caucus Scholarship.

A Q & A between Ed Stuart, professor, economics and international/intercultural studies, and a reporter was published in the December 3 issue of Les Echos, the leading daily business newspaper in France. Stuart discussed government intervention to address the current economic crisis.

President Sharon Hahs and student Miguel Loeza were featured in an article published in the December issue of National Crosstalk. Hahs and Loeza discussed the impact of the MAP grant funding on students and universities across the state of Illinois.

Alumnus Brad Conroy was featured in the November 19 issue of the Modern Guitarist. In the article, he gave high praise to Brian Torosian, instructor, music, who taught him guitar when he was a student at Northeastern.

Michael Wenz, assistant professor, economics, was interviewed for a story that was published in the November 15 issue of the Columbus Dispatch. The story was about the effect of casinos on the property values of homes in the surrounding area.

On November 12, Ed Stuart was interviewed for a newscast that was broadcast on KMX-1070 news radio in Los Angeles. Stuart talked about the job summit announced by President Barack Obama.

Rick Hallett, professor, linguistics, was featured in the November 12 issue of the Paper of Montgomery County. The article featured Hallett because of his recent receipt of a Fulbright Fellowship to study tourism in India.

Ed Stuart was featured on WTTW's "Chicago Tonight" on November 11. He discussed the Dow Jones and the stock market.

Ana Gil-Garcia, professor, educational leadership and development, was featured in the documentary "Latino in America," which aired on CNN on October 21 and 22. The documentary included the life stories on several people named "Garcia," which ranks eight on the list of 10 most popular surnames in this country.

President Sharon Hahs and Provost Lawrence Frank appeared in a photo published in the Fall issue of The Voice of Higher Education. They photo ran alongside a story about a HACU meeting that was held at Northeastern in August.

Art Misiewicz, locksmith, facilities management, appeared in an article and photograph that was published in the October issue of the Locksmith Ledger. The story featured Misiewicz and his responsibilities as the locksmith for the buildings on the NEIU campuses.
