Home Runs for Heroes

At noon on Sunday, September 27, NEIU will host Home Runs for Heroes, a 16-inch softball game at Thillens Stadium to benefit the Tom Dalof Heroes Fund at NEIU. Tom Dalof was a student in the College of Business and Management (COBM) and a player on NEIU's baseball team. Last year, as he was rescuing a woman who was under attack, he was tragically killed in a hit and run incident. In memoriam to Tom, NEIU has created a fund to honor everyday heroes at NEIU—people like Tom who change the world through their everyday actions—and to support the COBM.
NEIU needs YOU to cheer on the NEIU team! A rag-tag team of NEIU North Siders, managed by COBM Dean Amy Hietapelto, will face the Dalof Sluggers of Huntley, Illinois. Bring your friends and family for this afternoon of 16-inch softball, contests for both children and adults, hotdogs and other ballpark fare, and drawings for special prizes.
The first pitch will be thrown at noon on Sunday, September 27 at Thillens Stadium, 6404 N. Kedzie in Chicago. For more information and tickets, please call ext. 4636, stop by the NEIU Box Office or visit www.neiu.edu/Heroes.
